Hello Jen-

I watched this video and tried to post this comment but theyturned the comment section off for personal reasons, here was my comment:

Here is my question… was Vietnam a mistake? Several thousand Americans lost their lives there for no reason, there are no Viet Cong crossing the borders from Canada, why is it that neoconservatives feel the have a corner on the market for patriotism? Because they are “Proud to be an American” there are lots of countries that need our help what about Zimbabwe? They need help there, and Cuba, Georgia, Uganda, Algeria, should we pack up all the American soldiers and send them to the conflicts in these countries because “They want a life free from tyranny and violence” this is propaganda pure and simple, put a cute kid on You Tube with some patriotic music in the background and sell it, I am a Libertarian I will vote for Bob Barr but to call Obama unpatriotic because he is brave enough to question a war “That was a mistake” is not right or fair.

The disrespect to the military is to put them in these ideological wars for nothing if you want to go after someone for being unpatriotic go after Donald Rumsfeld

Well said Raphael. But I could not disagree more. The urgings of America and for that matter human beings across the world should go out to countries anywhere that are in need of freedom, our hearts should break everytime people die and the hands of tyrants. The will of the world should be to put an end to it. If America is not going to set the example and lead the way then who will? Where does it end? Do we draw the line on our border? Do we draw the line on the Mississippi? Do we draw the line on our state border? When is enough, enough? If it were possible to send troops to every village that had a child in need, I would send them. There is not enough, not enough in America, certainly not enough in other countries. So we fight the battles we can. And our hearts ache for the battles we can't. The frank truth of the matter is, we may not have needed to go into Iraq, the hard pill to swallow is, Rumsfield is an idiot, and a warmonger, any one of those two things is dangerous. Together they are deadly. Our president msay have been wise to seek council outside of his administration, and listen closely to Colon Powell who warned of every obstacle we have hit. Another hard truth is a hasty withdrawl will cost American lives. As far as casualties this has been the most productive conflict America has ever engaged in. We loose fewer people pre capita in the military during this administration then we did during the Clinton administration, and we have saved hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives.
