Tequila and Salt

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it every day. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.
1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.
2.. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. You are special and unique.
8. Someone that you don' t even know exists loves you.
9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.
11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.
And always remember.... when life hands you Lemons, ask for Tequila and Salt and call me over!
Good friends are like stars...You don't always see them, But you know they are always there.

Happiness keeps You Sweet, Trials keep You Strong, Sorrows keep You Human, Failures keeps You Humble, Success keeps You Glowing, But Only God keeps You Going

I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SEE THE DAY

When they CLOSED ALL THE SCHOOLS IN WASHINGTON COUNTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, my children are home from school today. All the schools in the county have been shut down to to SNOW! I still cannot believe it. The desert!?!?!?! Also a mere 120 miles away in LAS VEGAS! they have shut down the airport as well as 3 major freeways, due to the SNOW! I am just in awe, this sort of thing does not happen here.
Well we are off to play!:-)

WINTER COMES TO THE DESERT

We walked out of Walmart last night to howling wind and fierce rain. By the time we got home (a 30 minute drive), it had turned into snow flurries. Nothing big, but it was flaky, we assumed it would be gone by morning. But by the time we got up this morning, we had snow on the ground. Not much, as you can see in this first picture, you can still see some grass. But the kids LOVED it, they were so excited to go out and build a snow fort and snowman. I gently explained to them that there was not enough snow for such fun. But they said they would do it anyway. So I bundled them up and sent them out. They ended up with a large mound of snow, that they had accumulated from the cars, and every square inch of our front yard, as well as out neighbors. LOL, they had fun, but did not have more than a 3 foot by 6 inch mound to show for it. Oh well, they had a great morning.

Pooh was not too sure about it, he sat bundled up on the sidewalk watching them for about 20 minutes then decided that the snow was too cold and not any fun:-) But he looks so cute all bundled up, I still need to buy him some mittens that fit.

WHAT CUTE BOYS I HAVE!

Well we finally did it, we gave Kaiden his own room back, and put the two little boys in their own room again. Kaiden is MUCH happier with this, but half the time Nic still ends up on Kaiden's bottom bunk. And look how I caught my sweet boys one night. Pooh generally ends up on this Cars couch they have, but this night, they were both cuddled up together on it:-)

A DIFFERENT CHRISTMAS POEM

The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light, I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight. My wife was asleep, her head on my chest, My daughter beside me, angelic in rest. Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white, Transforming the yard to a winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree I believe, Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve. My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep, Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep. In perfect contentment, or so it would seem, So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.
The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near, But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear. Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know, Then the sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow. My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear, And I crept to the door just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night, A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight. A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old, Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold. Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled, Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.
'What are you doing?' I asked without fear, 'Come in this moment, it's freezing out here! Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve, You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!' For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift, Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts.
To the window that danced with a warm fire's light Then he sighed and he said 'Its really all right, I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night.' 'It's my duty to stand at the front of the line, That separates you from the darkest of times.
No one had to ask or beg or implore me, I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me. My Gramps died at 'Pearl on a day in December,' Then he sighed, 'That's a Christmas 'Gram always remembers.' My dad stood his watch in the jungles of 'Nam', And now it is my turn and so, here I am.
I've not seen my own son in more than a while, But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile. Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag, The red, white, and blue... an American flag. I can live through the cold and the being alone, Away from my family, my house and my home.
I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet, I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat. I can carry the weight of killing another, Or lay down my life with my sister and brother.. Who stand at the front against any and all, To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall.'
' So go back inside,' he said, 'harbor no fright, Your family is waiting and I'll be all right.' 'But isn't there something I can do, at the least, 'Give you money,' I asked, 'or prepare you a feast? It seems all too little for all that you've done, For being away from your wife and your son.'
Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret, 'Just tell us you love us, and never forget. To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone, To stand your own watch, no matter how long. For when we come home, either standing or dead, To know you remember we fought and we bled. Is payment enough, and with that we will trust, That we mattered to you as you mattered to us.'

AUGH help me!!!

My cat is in heat, and she is driving us CRAZY!!!! And no, it had honestly never crossed my mind to get her spayed. I mean obviously I would have eventually, but had not thought of it as of yet. And now she is howling and carrying on. She got out last night. And I am not too stressed about it, if she gets pregnant, then we will have babies:-) And then we will get her fixed. Either way immediately after this heat cycle is done we will get her fixed, well not immediately cause if she did get knocked up I am NOT about to abort her babies, we will just deal with it. So how can you help me, you ask? Do you have an unneutered male at your house I could borrow for a couple days to shut my cat up? The last time I have a cat that went into heat that is what we did, we had a friend and his male stayed with us for a week, shut my up. And then we had the most precious babies! My little Ben and Jerry, we ended up keeping both of them and mom. They were the best cats we ever had. Luckily she only had two though so that was an option. And we put an offer in on a house, so babies would not be an issue now either, well at least a few of them, unless she had like 10 or something! But right now we are just trying to deal with her howling. Unless you have a male!

MOVIE REVIEW

Thom and I went to see a movie last night, my parents watched the kids, as it was our 'mock anniversary'. The anniversary of our wedding, but not our legal anniversary. We celebrate our legal anniversary and do the whole anniversary thing (if you really want to know why this happened the way it happened you will have to email me for the answer). But on the anniversary of our big wedding, we try to at least do dinner or a movie or something. Anyhoo, so we went to a movie last night. THE BEST movie!!! We give it two enthusiastic thumbs up! We went to Four Christmases, starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon. It was EXTREMELY hilarious! We laughed through the whole movie. I strongly recommend you try to make it to see this movie this holiday season with a good 'family' message. It honestly did touch a heart string also, I teared up at one point. So a good movie for all. Now go see it!!!
