POOH BEAR'S FIRST HAIR CUT:( :( :( :(

Well I decided after 14 months it was FINALLY time to cut Pooh Bear's hair. This was a very sad and emotional time for me, but it was getting BAD! He had a freaking mullet! But it was such beautiful hair! It is gone now, but he still looks cute:)

I decided to trust Thom, but I made him promise not to shave it or give him a military hair cut, yet anyways:)
CUTTING OFF HIS PONY TAIL!

HE DID NOT SIT STILL WELL THOUGH...:)

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND?!?!?!?!

Well it is Memorial Day weekend, the typical beginning of summer. Well yesterday was the kids' last day of school, YIPPEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are now on Summer break till August 12th. But the weather is being difficult, it is not summer weather, or even the welcoming of summer weather. We have had record lows and record highs all in the same week. With record highs near 106 degrees, and records lows in the 50's(as a high for the entire day), my thermostat is on a roller coaster. It does not know what to do! As well as 50-60 mph winds, this weather sucks!!! So hear I sit on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend(when we should be camping, or 4-wheeling, or heck even fishing, to tip off the summer) couped up in my house cause it is too cold to go outside. I want summer!!! We had memorial weekend plans that we had to cancel due to the weather:( How can we tip off summer with such crappy weather? So I am bummed, cold weather makes me sad, which is why I live in the desert:) So I only have to deal with cold weather for 2ish months of the year:) And I know some of you are saying 50's? that's not cold. But when the temperatures have been hovering in the 90's-100's, that drastic of a cool off is COLD! That is all my ramblings I have for now:) I just hope we are able to salvage a BBQ on Memorial day from this weekend, with NO MORE rain!!!!!!:)

A BIG WEEKEND IN THE TOBIN FAMILY!

Well my baby made some mile stone jumps into toddler/big boy hood. He went from his high chair...

To a booster chair
And from his crib...
To his big boy toddler bed.
He LOVES it!!!!!
But it took me two hours to convince him to stay in bed and go to sleep...
But once he did what a sweet boy!!!!
Kaiden had been having some bad headaches and nausea, they were coming a few times a month, but in the last month or two they have increased to 3-4 times a week, so I knew I had to get him into the doctor, thinking it was just migraines, I took him to the doctor to have him diagnosed and given some medication to help him. But when we got to the doctor, with my previous health issues, his doctor decided to be safe than sorry, and he ordered a MRI and a MRA.
The doctor called that evening and left a message on the machine cause we were out, and said that his MRI turned out perfect, but there was something he needed to talk to me about, but he would not leave a message like that on a machine. So I FREAKED OUT!!! Then I began calling first thing the following morning(this would be Thursday by now), but it was his day off, so he finally got a hold of me on Friday afternoon, so I had no idea what was going on with my son from Wednesday night to Friday afternoon, just a message from his doctor saying he had to talk to me, but could not leave a message like that on a machine. So you would be freaked out also! And then he begins the conversation with "Well, I called and spoke with Dr. Davis the neurologist from Primary Children's Hospital"( Primary Children's Medical Center is the top pediatric center serving five states in the Intermountain West - Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada and Montana.) So that started the conversation off with a bang for me! I started panicking, thinking it COULD NOT be that bad! Turns out he only has a Chiari ("kee-are-ee") malformation. "The Chiari malformation is a disorder of the brain where the cerebellum is herniated through the foramen magnum and into the spinal canal. The foramen magnum is the hole in your skull that the brainstem and spinal cord exit. This herniation causes two things to happen: first, symptoms result as the herniated cerebellum pushes against the brainstem. Second, the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is disturbed and a syrinx, or syringomyelia may form (but not always). Remember that the CSF is what keeps your brain and spinal cord "buoyant" and serves as a cushion that protects them from unexpected trauma." you can see some of it in the x-ray(no this is not Kaiden's this is a Google image search) The doctor just a wanted us to be aware of this malformation, but as he has no symptoms now it is considered an A-typical malformation. But if he does ever develop symptoms then surgery will be required to widen 'something', I am not sure of what, but the doctor knows:). But his MRI, was PERFECT, all arteries were dilated and showed NO signs of weakening, PTL! So we can only assume that he has migraines, and treat him as such. According to the doctor he should be able to live a normal healthy life:):):):)

And Thom is FEELING BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We actually went out this weekend and played for the first time in over a month! And he went back to work today for the first time in as long. We are so excited that he is finally coming out of this!!!!!!!!!!!

SOME RANDOM CUTENESS!

Pooh Bear loves Nic's lawnmower, it is motorized, and just his size!
And he LOVES his kitty!!!!
The cat finally got irritated with him pulling his fur, so he tried to get away, but was so comfortable he just moved his head a bit:)
His first nap on a big boy bed! We moved Nic into Will's room giving Kaiden his own room now, and Will LOVES to climb up on Nic's bed, he actually fell asleep on there the other day while we were all still moving the furniture:) He keeps trying to climb out of his crib, so I am thinking it is time to move him to a big boy bed of his own:(

Things have been moving along here for us, so well some not so well. Thom is NOT doing well after his surgery still! It has been 2 weeks now, but he is still sick and miserable. He spends most days on the couch, trying to work as he can. Hopefully after tomorrow when they take the stint out he will begin to feel better.

The kids are getting anxious for school to be out! 2 weeks left till summer break!!! I have taken on a few jobs, 5 actually. I begin watching my friends' sisters' 2 little girls tomorrow morning, and then once school ends, I am taking on my friends 3 kids while she works. Which adds on 5 kids, WOW, 10 kids all day:) But it does give me a little extra money (cause they both insist on paying!) and as we live in an older retirement-type community, there are no kids here, so it will actually give my kids kids to play with over the summer, so it will be a good thing:) my friends' 3 are just over the summer, but the two other little girls are indefinite at this point. Which is fine, Thom is hoping this will crave my baby hungry-ness, but I doubt it, I am still fighting and working on my 6th:) I will let you all know when I get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THOM'S SURGERY

Thom had his surgery yesterday. The doctor pulled out a 5mm stone, and said that all went really well. He also dilated the ureter(sp?), and left a stint in place(which needs to be in for 10 days to 3 weeks). The doctor says everything went well, but Thom is not recovering well. He is very sick and miserable, and making life miserable for everyone around him. As with most guys he does not do well when he is in pain, or sick. But I am doing everything possible to keep him happy and comfortable. Things got real bad last night, he kept throwing up and could not keep anything down(nausea or pain pills), so I had to get a hold of the on call doctor, and figure out what to do. He called in a new nausea medication to our pharmacy, and said that if those did not work, I would have to take him to the ER, to get on IV fluids and meds. Luckily "THANK YOU JESUS" the medication worked and he was able to take a pain pill and keep it down. He has not thrown us since. He is doing a little bit better today, and we are just taking it one day at a time. Though he is very anxious to get the stint out because it is VERY uncomfortable for him, and causing him a great deal of pain. But I am sure he will be back to work on Monday, you know nothing can keep him from work, he even came out to the couch to work last night.
